Summer 2026: Marine Biology Study Abroad
Summer 2026 - France
Students joining us in France will learn all about the marine biology of the Mediterranean and the influence of the ocean on French culture in the beautiful city of Nice! In addition to learning marine biology in the field such as seeing seagrass beds while kayaking, visiting the Oceanographic Museum in nearby Monaco and scuba diving or snorkeling in the coastal city of Villefranche, students will also learn more about French culture while visiting museums, French chateaus and even archeological sites.
Read about the experiences of past students by viewing the France study "ablog" and visit the Study Abroad webpage for more information such as dates, costs, and other immersive experiences.

(*NOT OFFERED SUMMER 2026)
This introduction to Marine Biology, designed for the non-major, will take you to the Sea of Cortez (our nearest ocean experience), which has one of the best intertidal expanses in the world! At low tide, as much as 300 feet of what was once covered by the sea is exposed. Students will study the area between the tides and collect both plant and animal specimens, which will be studied under the microscope. Students will take part in an ongoing scientific survey of intertidal organisms in local habitats.
