The Life Sciences Greenhouse, Wildflower and Pollinator Garden is a living learning space that supports native pollinators and Monarch butterflies, facilitates undergraduate research, and provides a welcoming place for the MCC community to learn about and appreciate nature. The space integrates teaching, research, and stewardship while connecting students and visitors to local biodiversity. Additionally, the Red Mountain Campus a registered Monarch Waystation.



What is the Greenhouse and Garden?
This space is a Life Sciences–supported greenhouse and outdoor wildflower garden designed to:
- Maintain a healthy wildflower garden for native pollinators and Monarch butterflies
- Facilitate undergraduate research projects
- Provide a community space for learning about and appreciating nature
Get involved

Open house days
We host free open house events available to students, staff, faculty and the public (weekday and weekend options). Event details and flyers are posted through Life Sciences Upcoming Events and shared via campus communications (intranet posts).
Pollinator Patrol volunteer gardening days
"Pollinator Patrol" volunteer days support seasonal tasks such as weeding, planting, and garden preparation. Volunteer opportunities are scheduled in advance and shared via Upcoming Events and intranet posts.
You don’t need a green thumb—sometimes a black one is ideal.
