MEMBERSHIP OPTIONS

Membership Options

Memberships are available for students, employees, and the community.

  • Student Membership: $50 / semester, $25 / half semester, $30 / summer, PED class membership (see below)
  • Employee Membership: $25 / semester
  • Community Membership (open to the public): $60 / semester, $30 / half semester, $40 / summer

FITNESS CENTER FEATURES

  • Cardio equipment including treadmills, ellipticals, stairmasters, rowers, bikes
  • Strength training equipment including free weights, strength machines, squat racks, cable crossovers, smith machines
  • Fitness accessories including slam balls, medicine balls, battle ropes, plyo boxes, agility ladders, BOSU balls, bands, foam rollers, kettlebells
  • Drop-in group fitness classes
  • Personal training sessions includes a free consultation + complimentary follow-up sessions. Additional fees apply for scheduled personal training appointments with a certified trainer.
  • Day-use lockers
  • Monthly guest passes
  • Credentialed, Exercise Science fitness staff onsite

NON-CREDIT MEMBERSHIP

*Follow these steps to get our fitness center membership:

1. You must be admitted as a student at Maricopa Community Colleges MyMaricopa.edu.

2. Complete the application for Non-Credit Student Membership. For assistance, call the enrollment center at 480-461-7000.

3. Email Kelley.Lafer@mesacc.edu or Gail.Herndon@mesacc.edu with your student ID# and membership type.

4. You will receive a follow up email with confirmation of your membership.

PED CLASS MEMBERSHIP (ACADEMIC CREDIT)

PED101 Fitness for Life (1-Cr) and PED115 Lifetime Fitness (2-Cr) include fitness center access.

To register for PED101 OR PED115 Classes:

Go to the MCC online schedule > Select PED in the Course Subject box > Refine your search by using the locations, term, or select more options.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there showers located in the locker rooms?
The Fitness Center on both campus locations have showers in the locker rooms that are available to members..
Does the Fitness Center offer Guest Passes?
Yes, you can receive one free guest pass per semester to try the Fitness Center. Please visit or call the front desk to claim your free guest pass!
What kind of lockers do the Fitness Centers have?
The Southern and Dobson center uses digital locks while the Red Mountain center has metal lockers that require a padlock (locks are not provided). All lockers on both campuses are day-use only.
How do I sign up for a Silver Sneakers, Active&Fit, or RenewActive membership with my insurance?
To register for a senior program membership, please either call or visit one of our fitness centers and share the ID number/code given to you by your insurance provider. Other information, such as email and birth dates, may be needed by our staff to complete your registration.
I want to learn more about Personal Training, what are the costs and benefits working with a Personal Trainer?
All members can receive a free consultation + 1 complimentary personal training session. Personal training packages can be purchased by sessions: 1 session (60 min.) is $35 and a 5 session package can be purchased for $165. If you are an MCC employee, ask us about free personal training for staff! Working with a trainer can be helpful if you’re new to exercising, for working towards health and performance goals and designing/improving your physical activity. Learn proper exercise techniques with exercise programs that are tailored to your individual needs.
What is the difference between PED115 and PED101?
PED101 is a 1-credit course and accumulates 1560 workout minutes for the semester. PED115 is a 2-credit course, and accumulates 2880 workout minutes for the semester. In both classes, 50% of your time is spent in the Fitness Center(s) working out and the other 50% is completed in physical activities on your own outside of the centers.
Is there a cancellation fee for the membership?
While there is no cancellation fee, there are no refunds for non-credit memberships once a session has begun. If you are unable to commit to your membership, please contact us (preferably prior to the first day of the start of classes).
Where do I pay for my membership?
You can pay for your membership in person with Cashier's Services (located in the Enrollment Center) or you can visit your Student Center online. To register for a membership, please visit us in the Fitness Center.
