IT Fundamentals Microcredential Pathway

Do you need foundational skills for entry level employment?

This pathway will award the students with one Certificate of Completion (CCL) and two maricopa skill badges. Technicians are needed in multiple career fields. The CCL this pathway offers provides the foundational skills for entry level technician employment. The maricopa skill badges are visual representations of a person's proficiency or mastery in a particular skill or competency. They serve as digital credentials that individuals can showcase on their profiles, resumes, or social media platforms such as LinkedIn.

The IT Fundamental microcredential pathway badge represents a foundational understanding of essential IT skills required for entry-level technician roles across diverse industries. It signifies proficiency in spreadsheet manipulation, word processing, presentation creation, efficient file management, basic operating system navigation, and introductory database management. Additionally, the badge includes the Professional Workforce Skills microcredential, designed to equip individuals with abilities crucial for success in today's dynamic workplace landscape. This comprehensive credential integrates theoretical knowledge with practical assessment, ensuring participants are well-prepared to tackle the array of challenges and opportunities encountered in professional environments.

Associated Courses

Technician IT Fundamentals (CIS101) - 3 Credits

Survey of computer fundamentals. Focus on basic knowledge and skills, including components and hardware, word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, and email. Helps prepare students for the CompTIA ITF+ examination.

Workforce Professional Skills - Non-Credit - (Free)

This Free Workforce Professional Skills course is a single, online, self-paced, four week course consisting of five modules that prepare students for employment. The course covers the necessary skills for all types of employment such as; communication, empathy, professionalism, collaboration, initiative, critical thinking, problem solving and more.

*80% or Higher on Final Exam

The courses within this program are self paced online courses. Students are required to have access to a computer or mobile device, and Internet access, unless otherwise specified.
