Course Descriptions

Amazon Web Services: Academy Cloud Foundations (CLD110)
Provides a detailed overview of cloud concepts, Amazon Web Services (AWS) core services, security, architecture, pricing, and support. Intended for students who seek an overall understanding of cloud computing concepts, independent of specific technical roles. Helps to prepare students for the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam. Prerequisites: None. CIS105 suggested but not required.

Amazon Web Services: Cloud Architecting (CLD120)
Fundamentals of building IT infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Focus on how to optimize use of the AWS Cloud by understanding AWS services and best practices for the AWS Cloud and how they fit into cloud-based solutions. Covers design patterns for architecting optimal IT solutions on AWS, as well as strategies and services implemented on AWS. Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in CLD110 or permission of Instructor.

Amazon Web Services Cloud Developing (CLD130)
Designed to provide technical knowledge and skills in cloud technology that can be developed with Amazon Web Services (AWS) software development kit (SDK). Focus on best practices for building and deploying secure applications in the AWS Cloud. Helps to prepare students for the AWS Certified Developer - Associate examination. Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in CLD120 or equivalent AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate certification. CLD110 and CNT140AB recommended.

Tuition

$97 per credit hour, plus a one-time $15 registration fee

Total cost: *$597 (6 credits including the initial registration fee)

Course Location

This program provides courses through various modalities, including Hybrid and Live Online formats. Hybrid courses conducted are scheduled to be held at the Mesa Community College Southern and Dobson Campus, for more information regarding Hybrid and Live Online course modalities, please view the statement below.

Hybrid Course Modality Location:

Hybrid classes include face-to-face format on campus at the time listed in the class schedule. The other part will be held online either without a set time to attend or a Live Online session.

Live Online Course Modality:

  • Live Online: Live Online classes have sessions that meet online on specific days and times. Attendance in these sessions will be at the discretion of the instructor, and additional work will be required on the students own time. Access to a computer or mobile device with Internet connection is required.
