Description: Wooden puzzle boxes to dis-assemble and re-assemble. 50+ pieces. Takes between 45 and 90 minutes to take apart. Description: Quick Card game for two to five players. Players attempt to match and name pictures. Takes two minutes to set up and five minutes or less to play. Description: Electronic memory game that primarily tests STM processes. One-to-four players. One minute to set up. Single game can take anywhere from 30 seconds to two minutes. Description: An advanced, virtual reality (VR) headset designed to immerse

learners in immersive experiences. Oculus kit includes headset, hand controllers and charging cable. Five minutes to set up.

Teaching Suggestions: Send your students to the PIRC to complete a puzzle-box challenge. Works well if students work in teams. Have students submit a brief paper discussing how the puzzle-box challenge relates to problem solving strategies and barriers, visualization, STM, LTM, delayed gratification, language, social facilitation, etc. Teaching Suggestions: Begin class with activity. Discuss how activity relates to visual/verbal processes in STM, dual-coding, association areas of brain, components of language, etc. Teaching Suggestions: Best use with one player. Use to highlight STM capacity and duration, as well as working memory processes. Discuss differences between LTM and STM storage of information. Teaching Suggestions: Teaching Suggestions: Give students an example scenario and have them identify which elements apply to the different parts of the formula.
