Service Scholarship at Mesa Community College
For Mesa Community College (MCC) students who have participated in a minimum of 100 hours of community service at a non-profit or government agency within the past 12 months of the submission date of application. Please note, if selected as a recipient, this is a one time award.
Fall Deadline: March 1st to April 30th; Spring Deadline: September 1st to October 31st

Ambassadors help connect students with voting resources, support campus civic engagement activities, and empower their peers to become active participants in their communities. |
| MCC Votes | September 4, 2026 | The MCC Votes Team is a group of student leaders who provide nonpartisan classroom presentations to help fellow students understand voter registration, elections, and available voting resources. Team members also support civic holidays and campus engagement activities while encouraging students to become informed and active participants in the democratic process. |
| Student Public Policy Forum (SPPF) | October 9, 2026 | Applications are now being accepted for the Student Public Policy Forum. This year-long academic program provides an overview of local, state, national public policy making, and citizen influence and involvement. A focus is placed on experiential learning and leadership development through actual engagement in the current public policy process. Students meet with civic leaders, elected officials, and federal staff in Washington, D.C. |

Excellence in Service Award
Students and employees qualify for this award. This medallion is suitable to wear at graduation. Qualifications are listed below:
- Document 250 or more service hours during your tenure at Mesa Community College
- Work-study hours cannot be applied toward service hours
- Must be currently employed or enrolled, or have taken registered classes in the past six (6) months
- Can only earn the award one time
Graduation Regalia
Students and faculty who complete a service-learning and/or civic engagement project with our department, have the opportunity to receive our graduation ribbon and pin suitable to wear at the graduation ceremony.
