About Thor
The Thunderbird is a mythological spirit associated with thunder and lightning, symbolizing strength, protection, and the forces of nature. In 1974, Mesa Community College embraced this powerful symbol, adopting the Thunderbird as its official mascot. Thor the Thunderbird continues to show his unwavering pride in MCC.
Thor represents the college at sporting, community, and college activities. The Office of Institutional Advancement is responsible for Thor's appearances and hiring for the role.
