Service Scholarship at Mesa Community College

For Mesa Community College (MCC) students who have participated in a minimum of 100 hours of community service at a non-profit or government agency within the past 12 months of the submission date of application. Please note, if selected as a recipient, this is a one time award.

Fall Deadline: March 1st to April 30th; Spring Deadline: September 1st to October 31st

Award Amount: $1000.00

Student Election Assistance Coalition (SEAC) Contact CCCE to apply. The Student Engagement Advisory Council (SEAC) is a student-led group dedicated to strengthening voter engagement on campus. Established by Andrew Goodman Ambassadors, SEAC advises the Center for Community & Civic Engagement (CCCE) and helps develop civic programming, support voter education, and ensure students have the resources to participate in elections. Members gain leadership experience while making a lasting impact on democratic participation.
Democracy Fellows Summer 2025 Campus Vote Project

works with universities, community colleges, faculty, students, and election officials to reduce barriers to student voting.

Our goal is to help campuses institutionalize reforms that empower students with the information they need to register and vote.

Civic Influencers

Civic Influencers is a nonpartisan, nonprofit that activates young people’s civic power through organizing, learning, and advocacy. We use real-time data to draw attention to democracy power outages on campuses and in communities, and train young people to fight for youth voting rights and the policies they care about. We design youth-centered, data-driven civic action projects that remove barriers to voting and push decision makers to give young people a seat at the table.

NextGen America Leaders Lab: Professional Development Opportunity Fall 2025 The Leaders Lab is a semester-based educational program for college and university students that will empower campus leaders to become life-long organizers through training, hands-on experience, professional development, and community-building in order to strengthen our democracy and create a brighter and better future. Students who complete the program requirements are awarded a $1500 stipend.

Students and employees qualify for this award. This medallion is suitable to wear at graduation. Qualifications are listed below:

  • Document 250 or more service hours during your tenure at Mesa Community College
  • Work-study hours cannot be applied toward service hours
  • Must be currently employed or enrolled, or have taken registered classes in the past six (6) months
  • Can only earn the award one time

Students and faculty who complete a service-learning and/or civic engagement project with our department, have the opportunity to receive our graduation ribbon and pin suitable to wear at the graduation ceremony.
