Welcome to our Fast Track Practical Nursing Program Information Page
This program is held at our MCC Red Mountain campus at 2305 N. Power Road, Mesa AZ 85215.
Applications for the program have been paused due to a change in the districts application process. Students will be able to apply in August 2026.
The Fast Track Practical Nursing Program provides students with the theory and skills required to practice as a practical nurse in acute care, extended care, and intermediate care settings. The program of study combines nursing theory with planned patient care learning experiences in hospitals, nursing homes, and healthcare agencies. Various teaching strategies are used throughout the program of study. Lectures, role play, online case studies, and simulation are some of the teaching methods students will be engaged in during the program. It is important to note that technology is used extensively during the program.
The Fast Track Practical Nursing Program at Mesa Community College is approved by the Arizona State Board of Nursing.
Graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensing Examination (NCLEX-PN) to become a licensed practical nurse (LPN). Licensing requirements are the exclusive responsibility of the Arizona State Board of Nursing according to Title 32, Chapter 15 of the Arizona Revised Statutes.
**Once all program requirements have been met and the application has been submitted, students are placed on the district waitlist. We are unable to estimate how long a student may remain on the waitlist. Please note that applying in one semester does not guarantee placement in the following semester.**
