MCC Educators Academy Workshops

Community members working in or exploring the P-12 teaching field are invited to participate in these FREE workshops geared to inspire a greater enthusiasm for teaching and to promote effective education practices.  Certificates of participation and door prizes are provided at each workshop.   See http://tinyurl.com/MCCEducAcdmy

Teacher Endorsement / Continuing Education Courses:

Teacher endorsement / continuing education courses offered through MCC are scheduled upon school or school district requestGroups of at least 20 certified, practicing educators meet as cohorts to take evening or summer classes together.  Classes may be held on-site in the requesting district’s buildings or at an MCC campus.  [Exception: early childhood endorsement courses are regularly offered as well as some of the SEI and ESL courses].  A permission number is needed to enroll in cohort-only endorsement courses.  If you are a current/former certified teacher but are not an employee of cohort group, you may still enroll in the teacher endorsement classes when space is available.

      • A minimum passing score of “Advanced Low” on the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) Speaking and Writing exam in the foreign language.
      • If an exam in the language is not offered through AEPA, NES or ACTFL, proficiency may be verified by the language department of an accredited institution.
      • Proficiency in American Indian languages verified by an official designated by the appropriate tribe.

Reading Specialist Endorsement (choose K-8, 6-12, or K-12)

  • Designed for Elementary, Secondary or Special Education certified teachers to specialize in gifted education.
