Welcome Homeschoolers and their families!

Are you ready to take the next step in your academic career? MCC works with individual families as well as homeschooling pods and groups to assist you in becoming a college student and member of the Thunderbird family. Students who are homeschooled can take college courses while continuing their homeschool education, both as an academic venture or to take courses to just learn about new topics. Homeschool students will be part of our concurrent enrollment population. Concurrent enrollment is often used by homeschool students who do not participate in other Early College programs such as Dual Enrollment, ACE, or Hoop of Learning, and is tailored towards homeschool students 18 and under.

Classes follow the same calendar as the MCC courses do in Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters, and are available in a variety of modalities - in-person, hybrid, or online (either live or on your own time).

Benefits of taking courses with MCC include saving money, earning transferable credits to university or certificates, and acting as a bridge between homeschool and the university.

Please Note:

1. Students 13 and younger do require a Pre-Enrollment Parent Meeting prior to enrollment.  Please reach out to Admissions & Records to schedule a meeting.
2. Pre-Enrollment Parent Meeting may be held virtually, in-person, or over the phone.

Requests for Enrollment must be submitted 2 weeks prior to the beginning of the course.  Classes that begin August 23rd through September 1st are no longer open for registration.  Please allow 3-5 business days for processing.

How Do I Get Enrolled?

Homeschool Students will be required to complete the enrollment process by following these steps:

Step 1- Complete the Online High School Student Admissions Application to MCC. If you are a returning MCC Student you can skip to Step 4

Step 2- Step 2- Complete Identity Authentication and Financial Responsibility and Consent for Student Under 18 (requires MEID to login) through your Student Center as they will be listed as "To Do" items to complete.

Step 3- Complete an Ed Ready Reading Placement Exam Online.

HOMESCHOOL STUDENTS ONLY: Per State law, homeschooled students are exempt from submitting an unofficial high school transcript or ACT Aspire, ACT, PSAT, or SAT score report. However, homeschool students will be required to take the College EdReady Reading assessment with a recommended score of 75 or higher to demonstrate college readiness for admissions and must meet individual course placement requirements.

Step 4- You can search for classes on the Class Schedule page. If you want for information on programs, or to meet with an academic advisor, you can make an appointment HERE.

Step 5- Complete the MCC Special Admissions/Enrollment Form For Students Under 18.

Step 6- Once your forms have been completed and submitted, a staff member will process your forms (within 2-3 business days) and you will be emailed and have until the payment deadline noted on your receipt to pay your tuition. Failure to pay by this date may result in your being dropped from the course. All communications will be sent to your MCC Student Email.

How Much Does It Cost?

Tuition for in-state residents at the Maricopa Community Colleges is $97 per credit hour plus a $15 registration fee per semester. For more on tuition and fees click here.
