Here's a brief overview of the program:

Course: NUR158
Duration: 7 weeks
Credits: 4.5

Cost: See the Nurse Assisting handbook for estimated costs associated with the program. (pg 11)
Purpose: Prepares students for the Arizona State Board of Nursing exam, leading to certification as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) or Licensed Nurse Assistant (LNA). The program includes lectures, labs, and clinical experience.
Advanced Placement Option: If you have prior healthcare experience, you can consider NCE150AP. It's a 2-credit course that allows for a faster completion of the NA requirement. To enroll in the advanced course, you will need to provide a resume and a letter of reference. Details and guidelines for the Advanced Placement program can be found in the 'steps to registration' guide as well as the NA handbook.
To join our Nurse Assisting Program, it's essential to meet specific health and safety requirements. These requirements are mandatory as you'll be working directly with patients in our clinical sites. The compliance and application process typically takes weeks to complete, so we recommend starting at least 6 weeks before your desired start date.
