This 2-Day Workshop will focus on the worst situation a Command Officer can face, a “Mayday”. This program will benefit firefighters of any rank as it reviews “Mayday” operations in regards to OSHA regulations, NFPA standards and Volume 2. Case studies will be presented on the five basic “Maydays”:
Multiple firefighters “Mayday”
NO communications “Mayday”
Firefighter/crew lost or air problem
Firefighter/crew trapped, injured or unable to move
These case studies will be followed by “Mayday” simulations, which include radio traffic.

Virtual Incident Command Center training is in compliance with the National Incident Management System (NIMS). All training is referenced to the National Response Framework (NRF), which serves as the guiding principles that enable all response partners to prepare for and provide a unified national response to disasters and emergencies. The NRF establishes a comprehensive, national, all-hazards approach to domestic incident response. When you successfully complete training at the VICC, you're the complete package for incident command.
*The Virtual Incident Command Center reserves the right to cancel a workshop if the minimum registration of 8 students is not met. The VICC office will notify all students prior to the start of class if it is deemed necessary to cancel.
