Federal Work Study (FWS) means JOBS on campus for students. It is a form of federal financial aid. To be eligible, you must:

  • have a complete FAFSA on file at MCC

  • have an unmet financial need

  • enroll in at least six (6) credit hours

  • meet satisfactory academic progress

FWS - Office Assistant - Strategic Enrollment Development

Status: Federal Work Study

Office Hours of Operation: Monday - Thursday 8:00am to 6:00pm, Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

Job Summary:
Position will provide general clerical and outreach support to the Strategic Enrollment departments with primary support for Mesa Community College Promise and Dual Enrollment programs.

Essential Functions:

  • Responding to visitor inquiries via phone, email, chat, or walk-ins
  • Provides accurate responses to students' questions
  • Guide students through the admissions and registration process
  • Assist with technological support; creating flyers, data entry, research, etc.
  • May process enrollment-related dynamic forms
  • May assist with campus tours or other outreach activities on campus
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as needed to support Strategic Enrollment (NSWR, Orientation, Recruitment, Mesa College Promise, Dual/Concurrent Enrollment, MPS/MCC Embedded Advisors)
  • Proforms other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Exception customer service skills
  • Effective oral/written communication skills
  • Knowledge of office productivity software (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, etc.) and computer technology

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in Spanish

Special Working Conditions:

  • Travel to campus during interview/selection process will be at candidates own expense
  • May require some evenings or weekends
  • May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen
  • Work alternating open and close shifts

Job Summary:
Mesa Community College is hiring several Desk Assistants positions to work in the Fall 2022 semester. These positions provide reliable clerical assistance and outstanding customer service in the Learning Enhancement Center.

Essential Functions:

  • 60% Greets and logs students in and out for Center usage; provides front-line customer service; schedules tutoring appointments; monitors the virtual front desk
  • 25% Answers/routes incoming calls; tracks Center resources; provides clerical assistance; performs data entry
  • 15% Connects students with tutors; stocks center with materials; performs duties commensurate to grade level of position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be an MCC student in the Fall 2022 semester
  • Possess customer service orientation
  • Possess effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of Google Suite and MS Office.

Job Summary:
The Psychological Science Department is looking for a Federal Work Study student office assistant whose abilities are performing clerical tasks, providing customer service and supporting the Administrative Specialist in an academic setting to ensure the office is running efficiently. We seek applicants who are enthusiastic, proactive, and demonstrate a willingness to learn on the job to support student success.

Essential Functions:

  • Greet visitors who come into our office including students, faculty, and administrators
  • Answer phones, taking messages, sending emails
  • Support faculty and staff needs such as: making copies, distributing correspondence, and other special projects
  • Partake in setting up/taking down events for special events hosted by the department

Job Summary:
This position in Admissions & Records at Mesa Community College provides comprehensive support to students seeking assistance with resolving admissions, records, registration, and payment-related services in a one-stop enrollment services model to new and continuing students with high levels of accuracy and customer service.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides support for the Enrollment Services Welcome Desk
  • Assists with self-service computer stations
  • Aids students with admissions, records and registration processes, answering financial aid questions, guiding students through process and next steps, processing various Admissions & Records forms
  • Make referrals to other departments based on student needs
  • Provides customers with clear, complete and accurate responses to their questions and document interactions in the Student Information System (SIS) and various systems
  • Other Enrollment Services related support or other duties as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Customer service experience involving a high volume of public contact
  • Effective interpersonal skills and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of office productivity software (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, etc) and computer technology

FWS - Student Employee / Testing Assistant - Testing Services @ Red Mountain campus

Duties Include: Position still available at Red Mountain testing services office.

  • Know the Enrollment Process and where testing fits into this process. We will train you as long as you are willing to learn and adapt to your role and be able to perform your job duty.
  • Guide students how to maximize test preparation, knowledge of Boot Camps, retest policy.
  • Test security, ethical expectations of students, reporting of academic dishonesty issues
  • Review instructions for faculty exams, monitor spreadsheet(s), administer faculty exams
  • Assists students with Student Center—self-service
  • Administers college placement tests, ESL, faculty make-up exams. (but not their teacher)
  • Phones, computers, excellent customer service.
  • FERPA. Confidential workplace.

FWS - Student Services Assistant - International Education

Duties Include:
Provide support services to International students attending, or interested in attending, Mesa Community College. You must be a current full-time MCC student enrolled for Fall 2021 to qualify for this position. Both American and International Students are welcome to apply!
