Federal Work Study (FWS) means JOBS on campus for students. It is a form of federal financial aid. To be eligible, you must:
have a complete FAFSA on file at MCC
have an unmet financial need
enroll in at least six (6) credit hours
meet satisfactory academic progress
To determine your eligibility for this program, please go to the Enrollment Center and visit with the Financial Aid department to receive your FWS eligibility (green) slip.

FWS Job Openings
- Student Enrollment Assistant - Enrollment Services (Admissions & Records) - Spring 2019
Duties Include: Welcome students to the Enrollment Center, answer enrollment and registrations questions, provide general information and direct to appropriate services; assist students using self-service computer stations, create student ID cards, and operate virtual waiting line technology; assist with special events and projects; provide general office support (ie: document scanning, filing, data entry); assist students via phone and email. Multiple positions available.
Pay Rate: $11.00 or more per hour (based on eligibility), up to 19.5 hours per week

Duties Include: Basic clerical duties such as data entry and document filing. Must have good oral and written communication skills, be willing to assist with academic tutoring, and work well with others. Other job duties as assigned

- 65% Greets and logs students in and out for center usage; provided front-line customer service; provides clerical assistance; performs data entry

- 15% Connects students with tutors; stocks center with materials; performs duties commensurate to grade level of position

- Monday through Thursday 11:15am - 2:45pm, Friday 11:15am - 2:30pm (17.25 hours per week)

- America Reads Tutor - Center for Community & Civic Engagement (Spring 2019)
Duties: The America Reads program encourages tutors to help elementary-age children read well and independently. Successful applicants will:
- attend an orientation
- attend mandatory weekly meetings on Fridays from 1pm - 2pm
- commit to work at one school with a set group of students for one year
- complete or test out of RDG091
- be willing to help plan events such as Scholastic Book Fair and Dr. Seuss' Birthday
Pay Rate: $11.00 per hour, 10 hours per week. Hours vary by school.

- Assistant Teacher - Children's Center (Spring 2019)
Summary of the Job: Main role is to assist the lead teachers in day to day operations of the Children’s Center.

Rate of Pay: $11.00 per hour
Knowledge and Abilities: Ideally the job candidate would be pursuing a degree in education or has a degree. certificate or CDA in Early Childhood or related field. Knowledge of: child development, recreational and educational activities appropriate to preschool children; first aid
Ability to: interpret written documents; maintain accurate records; prepare meals; provide under direction a wide variety of positive stimulating experiences for children; communicate effectively and establish cooperative working relationships.
Training and Experience: Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities. An example of this would be experience in a childcare program and must meet NAEYC accreditation requirements.
Special Conditions of Employment: Position requires Arizona State certification in CPR, a current First Aid certificate and meets NAEYC accreditation requirements.

Duties: Assist with general maintenance of the Rose Garden such as weeding, pruning, watering, trash pick-up, etc.
Pay Rate: $10.75 per hour. Times vary from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, up to 19.5 hours per week.
