Working Wednesdays

Each Wednesday during the Fall 2022 semester the Career Services Department will be hosting Working Wednesdays on the Clock Tower sidewalk from 9am - 12pm. Each week, we will welcome employers on campus to table and speak with interested students about the job opportunities available within their organization.

Job Searching

This workshop will provide attendees with research and statistics of the current job market and how to utilize job searching strategies to be successful in finding a job in a career of their choice.

Resume Writing

Create an effective resume or improve the one you already have. Learn the different parts of a resume and its purpose, discover how to market your unique skills and abilities, and how to customize your resume to positions you are applying for to get you interviews.

Cover Letter Writing

Cover letters complement other application materials that allow you to provide a better picture of your professional self. Learn how to create and tailor your cover letter to demonstrate credibility, draw attention to specific qualifications, show how you meet specific needs of employers, and how your goals align with the organization.

Branding Yourself

This workshop challenges attendees to get to know their professional selves and how to advertise their strengths to potential employers, colleagues, and the community.

Interviewing

This workshop will go over the current job market along with tips and tricks on how to be a successful interviewee. There will be an opportunity to review and practice general interview questions and learn strategies to provide answers that match the job description, the company, and employer expectations.

Professional Etiquette

Workplace etiquette and professionalism are the art of portraying a poised, self-confident image in today's demanding atmosphere. Learn about professional behaviors and suggested standards of appearance, actions, and attitudes in a business environment.

Professional Networking

Professional networking is an important consideration when you’re in the process of building your career in a specific industry or field. Learn how to network effectively in various professional settings to build relationships with peers and colleagues within your field.
