Working Wednesday Job Fairs and Career & Resource Job Fairs

During the Fall and Spring semesters, the Career Services Department hosts Working Wednesdays Job Fairs and Career & Resource Job Fairs on campus. We welcome employers on campus to table and speak with interested students about the job and work-based learning opportunities available within their organization. Ranging from 15 to 30 employers participating in our events. 

Employers - If you are interested in participating in the upcoming employer recruitment events, please fill out the Career Services Job Fair and Event Interest Request Form. Please take note of the following information:

  • General Working Wednesdays are $30 for participation
  • Career & Resource fairs are $100 for participation

The Maricopa Community Colleges' Career Centers reserve the right to grant access to employers based on the needs of our diverse constituencies. Our policy includes reviewing all employer access requests for content and suitability. We do not accept job postings from businesses whose purpose conflicts with MCCCD's policies, regulations, or overall mission. Please take the time to review the NACE principles at the bottom of this page for additional nationally endorsed policies.

Requirements for On-campus Recruitment:

  • Employers who can guarantee at least an hourly wage that complies with the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act and State of Arizona minimum wage laws.
  • Recruiting for business opportunities, multi-level marketing businesses, or other ventures that require an initial investment is not allowed on campus.
  • After completing the request form, the Career Services Team will research your company and let you know if your request has been approved.
  • Employers are not permitted to post at free will around campus. Flyer disbursement outside of the Career Services must be approved by the Student Life and Leadership office. All flyers found that have not been approved will be removed.
  • All requests for space shall be granted on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • All solicitations must take place at tables in designated areas. The standard space will be one table (8ft) and two chairs.

The campus is not responsible for providing tents or any type of coverage during outside events.

Physical Job Board

Are you interested in sharing your job opportunities with students and community members? If so, you can email your flyer to [email protected] to be posted for one month on the physical job board located in the Career Services office at MCC.

The flyer advertising the job position(s) must contain the following:

  • Company name
  • Logo
  • Location/address of your company site
  • Job description with minimum qualifications
  • Pay rate
  • Information on how to apply

NACE Principles

The Maricopa County Community Colleges Career Centers subscribe to and endorse the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Principles for Ethical Professional Practice, which includes the following criteria:

  • Must have current or anticipated openings
  • Must have an “employer-employee” relationship in which there are no fees associated with becoming an employee of the organization
  • Must subscribe to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws established by the United States and Arizona governments

The Maricopa County Community College District’s Career Centers have established the following additional criteria:

  • Sales positions must offer an ongoing base salary and not be commission-only
  • Multi-level Marketing (MLM) organizations and franchising opportunities are not permitted
  • No access will be granted to post jobs that put applicants in compromising situations, such as adult entertainment, escort services, presentation modeling, or similar activities
  • No access will be granted for positions where applicants would be paid per item to complete surveys, click on internet links, or post personal web content
  • Employers must abide by the job opportunity information submitted. It is not permitted to recruit for positions other than those positions already approved through the previously identified guidelines

In addition to the items listed above, MCC requests that all employers who attend our job fairs offer local employment to our students. Employees must be able to visit a local office to speak directly with a manager regarding concerns. We cannot promote employment opportunities with businesses that are based out of a residential (home) location.
