Embedded Tutor - Learning Enhancement Center

Mesa Community College is hiring several Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry Student Learning Facilitators to work as embedded tutors during the upcoming Fall semester. These positions provide in-person and online tutoring for Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry courses in the Learning Enhancement Center and support students in the classroom as assigned.Essential Functions:
- 85% Provides tailored tutoring support to students in an assigned course section; Attends class meetings as assigned and based on modality; Provides in-person and/or online tutoring to students in the Learning Enhancement Center while implementing effective study strategies; Utilizes effective communication skills to help students understand complex material; Works with a diverse population of students, faculty and staff.
- 15% Delivers review sessions/workshops, provides asynchronous support, and creates resources for assigned course section as requested; Maintains student attendance for review sessions/workshops and tutoring records; Engages students in instructional activities using educational technology hardware and software programs such as video conferencing tools, ConexED, Google Workspace, Canvas, TracCloud, etc; Provides student status and recommendations to program leads and collaborates with instructors.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Successful completion (grade of "A") in a course where an embedded tutor will be assigned. Fall 2026 openings are for the following courses: biology, chemistry, and mathematics.
- Knowledge of course content and materials in the subject area of biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics
- Good communication skills and the ability to help students understand complex material.
- Patient and respectful of varying levels of student content knowledge
- Current student at Mesa Community College.
Desired Qualifications:
- Successful completion with a grade of A in prerequisite courses for the embedded assignment course in the areas of biology, chemistry, or mathematics.
- Knowledge of instructional methods used in the classroom at MCC
- Faculty recommendation
- Knowledge of effective study strategies
- Experience providing quality service in a fast-paced environment.
Special Working Conditions:
- Embedded tutors may work in one of the LEC locations on the Southern and Dobson or Red Mountain campus and support students in the classroom as assigned. Tutors will work in-person and provide virtual tutoring from campus.

Data Analytics/BAS Academic Support Lab Assistant

The Student Experience Ambassador supports prospective and current students throughout the admissions, enrollment, orientation, placement testing, and account reactivation processes. Serving as the first point of contact, they assist students in person, by phone, and virtually by providing information, processing enrollment-related forms, and guiding them through online services and campus resources. The role also includes conducting workshops and orientation sessions, supporting recruitment and retention events, monitoring data, preparing reports, and performing general administrative duties.Essential Functions:
- Assist prospective and current students in person, by phone, and virtually
- Guide students through application, placement testing, enrollment, and account reactivation
- Assist with student retention and engagement initiatives
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience providing customer service to multiple customers or students at once

Special Working Conditions:
Hours: May be required to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends depending on the needs of the Department. May work up to 40 hours/week during peak enrollment periods (August and January). The position requires long hours of viewing a computer monitor and the ability to lift 25 pounds. Provides front-line reception and customer services. Performs various data, record information and provides faculty, counseling, and student information.Essential Functions:
- Maintain faculty mailboxes, receive/distribute mail, copy center jobs, deliver packages.
- Counseling Department appointments and crisis team referrals.
- Maintain bulletin boards, display cases, soft space maintenance and faculty emergency contact and distribution lists.
- Faculty office assistance such as overall questions/answers liaison to MCC S&D.
- Restock classrooms, faculty offices and Instructional Support areas.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of standard office practices, procedures and equipment, including but not limited to Microsoft and Google applications.
- Experience in customer service with high public contact.
