Job Summary: 
Provides in-person tutoring services for the LEC at MCC's Southern & Dobson campus in specific subject areas (or for particular classes)

Essential Functions:
90% Provides in-person tutoring to students in the Biology Center; works with a diverse population of students, faculty and staff
10% Provides student status and recommendations to the supervisor; assist with workshops, class presentations and other student success activities; other duties as assigned

Front Desk Staff - Early College and Community Outreach center

Status: Part Time Staff Hourly (25 hours per week/ 40 during approved peak employment cycles)

Job Summary: The MCC Outreach Center provides college access programs and services for early college students through a variety of programs, such as ACE, Hoop of Learning, Dual Enrollment and Concurrent Enrollment. The department also provides adult education access through GED to MCC and ELL programs. Families and other community members also partake in specialized programs such as College Starts Now, Keys to Success Early College Foster Youth Program, and innovative youth summer camps. The MCC Outreach Center also provides n1ultiple c01nmunity outreach services to provide information and support for community members who wish to access college services and experiences. 

Essential Functions: 

  • Monitor Front Desk by greeting, announcing and providing assistance to all visitors in a professional and welcoming manner
  • Answer, screen, refer and manage a high volume of calls in a polite and professional manner, perform enrollment services related functions for all programs, respond to inquiries generated via phone, email and web
  • Track all walk-ins and phone calls and report them to Front Desk Team Lead
  • Assist office staff with daily operations including document processing, data entry, and other tasks as assigned
  • Provide office support as needed
  • Process tuition payments and other fees for students (cashier's duties)
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to maintain a courteous, friendly mannerism when working with students and staff
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Beginner to intermediate level of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Experience working with a diverse population
  • Experience in an office setting and utilizing office equipment
  • Demonstrate experience performing multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Experience with PeopleSoft student information systems
  • Experience with admissions and enrollment processes

New Student Specialist - Enrollment Center

Job Summary: New Student Specialists provide guidance and support to new students through the application, placement testing, advisement, registration and orientation process. These positions will interact with and serve a diverse population of prospective and current students; provide information as the first point of contact on campus; process admission and registration related forms; assist students with online self-service options; assist with identifying student needs and entering into virtual waiting line system; provide advisement in individual and group settings, assist with coordination and facilitation of group advising/orientation sessions; monitor data and prepare reports, assist in recruitment and retention related events; provide general clerical assistance and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Some college and 1 year of relevant experience
  • Experience providing customer service to multiple customers or students at once

    Note taker - Classroom and Lab Aide for Students with Disabilities - Red Mountain

    Job Summary: 
    Provide accurate, complete, & legible notes for MCC Red Mountain Disability Resources and Services of lectures/classes and/or other proceedings on behalf of students with disabilities; assist students using adaptive equipment in DRS Adaptive Lab; provides DRS front office coverage upon request; read/scribe exams as needed.

    Essential Functions:

    • Take notes on all information presented in class (instructor's lecture, students' comments, films, slides,etc.)
    • Take legible, easy to follow, and accurate notes
    • Be responsible, reliable, and thorough
    • Assist students with disabilities in classrooms and labs

    Minimum Qualifications: 
    Have a CUM GPA of 3.0 or higher, the ability to read, write, and speak English well and clearly, and to be able to commit to a stable work schedule for the entire semester.  Needs to be able to maintain confidentiality and have a professional relationship with the student.

    Note taker - Classroom Assistant - Disability Services - Southern and Dobson

    Summary of the Job: To take high quality notes from lectures for students with disabilities.

    Job Summary: 
    TRIO SSS Peer Academic Tutors will play a critical role in student engagement and success for participants in the TRIO Student Support Services Program (SSS). As an Academic Tutor, you will help build positive learning communities for TRIO SSS participants, create meaningful connections with participants and staff, and support participant academic success to reinforce the mission and goals of TRIO SSS.  TRIO SSS Academic Tutors will provide individual and group tutoring in specific subject areas, to SSS participants, to supplement services provided on campus.  We are currently in need of tutors for Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.  Applicants will be agreeable to providing tutoring services within a flexible time schedule (nights, weekends) and in a variety of locations (on campus and off campus).

    Essential Functions: 

    • Help participants identify academic problem areas
    • Provide academic assistance in specific subject areas
    • Help participants develop effective learning strategies
    • Facilitate independent learning by helping SSS participants discover their own answers and insights
    • Tracking participant utilization of tutoring and creating reports

    Minimum Qualifications: 

    • Applicants have a 3.0 GPA or higher in the subject area courses related to tutoring specialty 
    • Be in good academic standing overall at MCC
    • Have completed at least one semester within the MCCCD
    • Have experience working with first-generation, low-income students and/or students with disabilities or themselves come from these backgrounds

    Desired Qualifications (if applicable): 

    • Applicants have a 3.5 GPA or higher in subject area courses related to tutoring specialty 
    • Have completed two semesters or more within the MCCCD; each semester in good academic standing
    • Have experience working with a federal TRIO program or are an alumni of a federal TRIO program
    • Verifiable tutoring experience
