MCC Theatre presents the play Picnic

MESA, Arizona – March 23, 2015 – Mesa Community College (MCC) Theatre & Film Arts Department will present Picnic, April 22, 23, 28 & 29 at 7:30 p.m., and April 23 & 30 at 2 p.m. at the MCC Theatre located on the south side of MCC’s campus (1833 W. Southern Ave., Mesa, 85202). Tickets, ranging from $9 to $12, are available by calling the MCC Box Office at 480-461-7172, online at mesacc.edu/arts, or at the door.

Directed by MCC Theatre & Film Department faculty member, Kevin Dressler, Picnic is the story of a small Kansas town and the women who reside there.  When a handsome drifter, Hal, arrives, their lives are turned upside down. When Hal and Madge fall in love, their passion is strained by Madge’s betrothal to another man and Hal’s drifting ways.  A snapshot of America in the 50s, Picnic is a tale of desire and restraint that tugs at the fabric that holds comfortable society together.
