MCC celebrates 350th internship to Disney College Program

Students may receive up to six college credits from MCC as a Disney College Program intern

MESA, Arizona – March 20, 2018 – Mesa Community College, a Distinguished Disney College Program Institution, is pleased to announce its 350th student internship with the Disney College Program. MCC students locally and from around the world have benefited from the internship program since 2001.

Any MCC student may apply for the paid internship, which includes the earning of college credits. They gain valuable, on-the-job experience working in Disney parks and resorts, participate in college coursework offered on location and live with people from all over the world in Disney-sponsored housing located near the Disneyland Resort in California and the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

“Students attending the Disney College Program sponsored by MCC are from more than 40 majors from accounting to animation, computer information systems and medicine to music,” said Dr. Linda Collins, chair, MCC Department of Business and Information Systems. “This internship provides a quality learning experience for students pursuing a variety of careers.”

The five- to seven-month program encourages interns to network with leaders, take part in personal and career development classes, and build transferable skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, guest services and effective communication.

“I would encourage any student interested in this fantastic opportunity to apply now for Fall 2018,” Collins said. “Students who have participated in the program tell us it is a life-changing experience.”
