Career Profile
Library Information Studies graduates find careers as paraprofessionals in libraries and information organizations. Graduates currently working in libraries are able to apply their upgraded skills and enhanced knowledge of information systems and the technical aspects of libraries.
Library technicians typically advance by assuming added responsibilities. Some library technicians advance to supervisory positions and are in charge of the day-to-day operation of their departments or, sometimes, a small library. Library technicians who continue their education and earn a graduate degree in library science can become librarians.
