Fine Arts
Drawing the human form with live models. Putting that final touch on a vibrant watercolor. Getting your first look at the glazed ceramic vase you fired. Hanging the 8x10 you just developed in the red light glow of the dark room. Just imagine the things you’ll do in the Fine Arts program.
The Fine Arts program at MCC helps students develop an understanding of how art infuses all areas of our lives. We offer classes in photography, painting, drawing, color theory, design, composition, and more to students at all skill levels and interests.
We support a learning environment that encourages visual literacy, promotes the aesthetics of cultural diversity, enhances the quality of life, and provides an opportunity to develop the skills and techniques you need to be successful in the field of art.
The Art Department hosts a variety of annual activities for our students and the public. Our Student Art Exhibition showcases more than 200 student artworks and workshops and lectures are presented by visiting artists throughout the school year.

Meet with an Advisor
Before signing up for classes, you’ll want to meet with an academic advisor. Together, you’ll lay out a program and career path that suits you best. This step is essential to your academic success, so don’t skip it, okay?
Advising for the Fine Arts program is available through the Art & Photography department. You can also contact Advisement & Registration Services for general advising. Both will help you determine the exact courses you need to get the education you’re looking for.
