Counseling & Personal Development

The Counseling program at Mesa Community College offers students a variety of services to help them address personal, social, educational, and career concerns. By providing support and guidance, MCC students will be empowered to be successful in completion of educational and personal endeavors.

Coursework Overview

The Counseling program has many extracurricular activities in addition to schoolwork. Students can participate in Student Opportunities for Success (SOS) that is developed to assist incoming and continuing students to make a successful transition to college, both academically and personally. By providing a strong foundation of essential college strategies for success, these programs will aid in student retention.

First year students may also interact with First Year Experience, a program developed to increase collaboration between MCC Faculty and Staff to increase the retention of new students.

Meet with an Advisor

Before signing up for classes, you’ll want to meet with an academic advisor. Together, you’ll lay out a program and career path that suits you best. This step is essential to your academic success, so don’t skip it, okay?

Advising for the Counseling & Personal Development program is available through the Counseling department. You can also contact Advisement & Registration Services for general advising. Both will help you determine the exact courses you need to get the education you’re looking for.
