Advanced Math Course Placement Using Multiple Measures

This is a document/directive to advising and enrollment. These protocols will be in effect until further notice from the Math IC. A PDF version is also available.

Placement Protocol - Mathematics

During the time that students do not have access to the testing centers for accuplacer placement testing, we nevertheless want students to be able to qualify for course placement. The following protocols should be followed for mathematics courses in addition to the already approved course placement chart.

MAT155/156 or MAT140/141/142 or MAT120/121/122

  1. QAS EdReady Score of 70 or greater

MAT150/151/152 or MAT187

1. College Algebra EdReady Score of 80 or greater

MAT182

  1. Credit for MAT15+

OR

  1. College Algebra EdReady Score of 80 or greater
  2. AND Concurrent enrollment in MAT150/151/152.

MAT212/213

  1. College Algebra EdReady Score of 80 or greater

AND Any one of the following:

  1. ACT Math Subscore 24 or greater or SAT Math Subscore 560 or greater
  2. If no ACT or SAT - Supply HS Transcript with Evidence of College Algebra or Pre-Calculus with B or better
  3. Alternate Exam or Validation managed by Math Division/Department Chair at each college.

MAT220/221

  1. College Algebra EdReady Score of 80 or greater

AND Any one of the following:

  1. ACT Math Subscore 28 or greater or SAT Math Subscore 640 or greater
  2. If no ACT or SAT - Supply HS Transcript with Evidence of College Algebra/Trig or Pre-Calculus with B or better
  3. Alternate Exam or Validation managed by Math Division/Department Chair at each college.
