Emphasis on hands-on labs in both the Windows and Linux environments. Builds on thorough understanding of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and security concepts and Microsoft (MS) Windows and Linux Administration. Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in CIS126DL, or CIS126RH, or permission of Program Director. Corequisites: BPC270 or MST150. |

In-depth exploration of how to effectively protect computer networks from risks ranging from malicious infiltration to cyber-warfare. Includes examination of ethical hacking, relevant tools and methodologies, and its importance to network security. Resources to identify new computer network vulnerabilities and counter security strategies will be discussed as well as an overview of relevant computer crime laws and penalties.
