This course will prepare the successful student to receive the "Certified IPC Specialist" (CIS) certification from The Institute for Interconnecting and Packaging Electronic Circuits (IPC)/Wire Harness Manufacturer's Association (WHMA) in "Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies" (IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification). Topics covered and skills to be demonstrated are: soldered terminations, crimp terminations, insulation displacement terminations (IDC), splices, connectorization, marking/labeling, coaxial cable assemblies, electrical shielding, wire marking and labeling, and testing methodologies. Certification is verified by a certified IPC trainer (CIT). Prerequisites: None.

ASM275 Forensic Anthropology 4 Credits

Survey of the role of forensic anthropologists, from the crime scene to the courtroom. Course focuses on how skeletal analysis can aid in medicolegal investigations, especially by identifying aspects of the life history of unknown individuals and by reconstructing events that took place at crime scenes. Covers both the legal aspects of forensic practice and the underlying biological basis for evidence obtained from skeletal remains. Examines applications of forensic anthropology in mass disasters, human rights investigations, and the deciphering of historic cases. CIS105 Survey of Computer Information Systems 3 Credits

Overview of computer technology, concepts, terminology, and the role of computers in business and society. Discussion of social and ethical issues related to computers. Use of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software. Includes uses of application software and the Internet for efficient and effective problem solving. Exploration of relevant emerging technologies. Prerequisites: None.

Course Notes: CIS105 is a lecture course with computers demonstrations and open lab assignments. CIS105 uses Windows-based computers to cover word processing, presentation, spreadsheet and database management software. Includes overview of computer technology, concepts, terminology and the role of computers in business and society. Discussion of social and ethical issues related to computers and exploration of relevant emerging technologies. Knowledge or basic features of Windows and ability to type 30 WPM recommended. CIS105 uses Microsoft Office 2016 or 2019 and either Windows 7, 8, or 10 software. Chromebooks and iPads are not supported. Students require access to a PC and/or Mac to complete coursework.
