CON102 Foundations of Construction Trades 5 Credits

Introduction to construction trades with an overview of common practices in the construction profession including safety, reading blueprints, tools and equipment. Includes maintenance of workspace according to professional standards and basic calculation skills in the construction environment including the primary operations. Examines the United States standard and metric units of measurement, orthographic figures, and area and volume calculations for two and three-dimensional objects. Provides students with the information and skills needed to read and understand construction drawings. Prerequisites: None.
