Information Studies and eSociety

Technology has rapidly transformed how we create, distribute, access, and consume information. Today’s companies are looking for professionals who can communicate effectively across digital platforms and also possess the critical thinking skills necessary to evaluate and understand the behaviors and biases that are inherent in digital communication. Marketing and communication professionals specialize in analyzing the impact of media on daily life and society in order to help companies strategize, engage, and communicate effectively.

The Information Studies and eSociety program will help prepare you for work in a variety of communication fields, such as marketing, social media, libraries, editing, public relations, journalism, and online content creation. Our experienced instructors will teach you how to communicate across diverse populations and platforms using the latest digital tools and media. You will develop critical-thinking skills to evaluate information in several formats, as well as examine our roles as content creators and consumers in a global society. The program will also teach you the importance of using information according to ethical, legal, and copyright considerations.
