Beginning Summer Semester 2013, Mesa Community College (MCC) will begin offering online degrees and certificates.
In Fall 2012, MCC submitted an application to the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) seeking approval to offer degree and certificate programs via distance delivery. A site visit was conducted by HLC in October.
MCC received formal notification from the HLC Institutional Actions Council that they have been approved to expand distance learning education to include 100% total degree programs.
The College will offer 20 different online degrees and certificates.
Certificates of Completion:
Small Business Start-Up
Associate in Arts
Associate in Business General Requirements
Associate in General Studies
Associate in Applied Science
Administration of Justice
Emergency Response and Operations
While MCC has offered online classes for several years, students will now have the opportunity to complete a degree fully online. Currently, the college offers more than 500 eLearning classes through internet, hybrid or web-enhanced delivery methods, allowing students convenient and flexible options to advance their education.
“This is a significant milestone for MCC. Our focus on academic excellence, student success and student support in the virtual environment is paramount to helping students achieve their educational ambitions,” stated Dr. Shouan Pan, President.
