Some DACA Students Pursue Higher Education for the First Time

Cesar Calderon starts classes next week at Mesa Community College. The 26-year-old graduated from Mesa High in 2012, but wasn’t able to afford higher education until a judge upheld a policy making some undocumented immigrants under the Obama administration’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program eligible for in-state tuition at the Maricopa Community Colleges.
