KJZZ reports that the Maricopa County Community College district adopted a preliminary budget for the 2017-2018 fiscal year Tuesday night. The $1.4 billion proposal is $59.4 million less than last year. District board member Jean McGrath cast one of the no votes. She said she believes Mesa Community College’s Red Mountain campus, which reportedly costs $7 million a year to operate, should be shut down based on student enrollment and other factors.
