Cronkite News reports that Arizona public universities and colleges are working to drive up Arizona college graduation rates, smoothing the way for students transferring from community college, offering financial aid and adding online classes to draw non-traditional students.
Schools like Mesa Community College offer students including students like Jason Schiffman, a public relations major, and Christen Webb, a speech and hearing sciences major, scholarships like the President's Honors scholarship that pays for four semesters at any one of the Maricopa County Community College District colleges.
Rose Rojas, who oversees the curriculum and transfer student program at the Maricopa County Community College District, helps students transfer to four-year universities using “pathway” programs.
