Justin Stanley is preparing to graduate from Mesa Community College this spring, using the education he gained to build a meaningful career in exercise science while continuing to grow both professionally and personally.

Stanley chose MCC for the opportunity it provided to return to higher education and create a new path forward.

“Mesa Community College stood out to me because it offered a powerful second chance to pursue higher education later in life,” he said. “It provided not just access to education, but a pathway to transformation.”

Outside of the classroom, Stanley is dedicated to fitness and personal development, applying what he has learned to build structured training programs and strengthen his discipline and focus.

“Training has become more than a routine—it’s something that shapes my mindset and keeps me focused on my goals,” he said.

His journey has included balancing school with family responsibilities after being away from education for several years—an experience that challenged him to grow.

“Returning to school while managing family responsibilities was one of the greatest challenges I’ve faced,” he said. “Those obstacles pushed me to develop resilience, discipline and a stronger sense of purpose.”

Stanley credits MCC’s supportive environment and faculty for helping him succeed.

“The professors go beyond teaching—they invest in their students’ success,” he said. “MCC has given me more than an education, it has given me direction.”

As he looks ahead, Stanley encourages students to stay consistent, take ownership of their time and make use of the resources available to them.

“Success is built through daily habits,” he said. “Stay organized, set clear goals and don’t be afraid to ask for help—there are people here who truly want to see you succeed.”
