Mesa Community College (MCC) has recently been awarded an Arizona Department of Education grant to Advance Geographic Literacy for K-12 education. The Arizona Geographic Alliance (AzGA) has been supporting Geography and Social Studies education for the K-12 community in Arizona for close to 30 years. We are honored to be the new host for this important work.
Over the past two months, our team has been diligently moving the AzGA resources to MCC and are ready to welcome you to our current space. Please invite all the in-service and pre-service teachers in your life (students in MCC's education program, students in ANY education program, your children's teachers, or teachers you just happen to know) to join us in the exploration of AzGA's resources at MCC, learn about our upcoming events, and participate in a HUGE GeoTreasures give-away of free teaching materials, office supplies, manipulatives, maps, and more. We will even have a few special door prizes. You need not be a current member of AzGA, but we hope that you will consider joining.
DATES: October 10th from 5:00-8:00pm, and October 11th from 10:00 am-2:00pm
