Private Instruction

Registration for Fall 2026

To register for Private Instruction, please complete the Fall 2026 Registration Form (must be login to your MCC Email Account).  Students need to provide their own instrument.

You must be registered for 10 credits of your classes prior to registering for Private Instruction in order to be eligible for the scholarship.

District Policies Concerning Private Instruction

Private Instruction Course Fee Scholarship Eligibility

In order to receive the 2 credit Private Instruction Course Fee Scholarship (PICFS), A FULL-TIME Music Major must be registered for the following 12 credits:

At least 7 credits of Music Courses* (includes Private Instruction) plus an additional 5 credits of Music and/or General Studies courses.

Cost: 2 credits $194.00 + $236.00 (course fee) = $430.00**

In order to receive the 1 credit Private Instruction Course Fee Scholarship (PICFS), A PART-TIME Music Major must be registered for the following 6 credits:

At least 2 credits of Music Courses* depending on Campus criteria plus an additional 4 credits of Music and/or General Studies courses (includes Private Instruction).

Cost: 1 credit $97.00 + $120.00 (course fee) = $217.00

NON-MUSIC MAJORS

Non-Music Majors are not eligible to receive the Private Instruction Course Fee Scholarship. The cost of lessons is listed below.

Cost: 1 credit $97.00 + $480.00 (Course Fee) = $577.00**

2 credits $194.00 + $960.00 (course fee) = $1,154.00**

* Mandatory courses depending upon program of study or discretion of Music Department.
