New Frontiers is a non-credit, community education program specifically for active adult learners. Under the direction of President Allan Zisner, New Frontiers offers peer-led, year-round learning opportunities, including in-person and online classes, social events, volunteer opportunities, and wellness activities like hiking, biking, and walking groups.
What makes New Frontiers truly special is its volunteer-driven and self-governed model. Members don't just attend classes - they teach, organize, and lead them. This collaborative spirit fosters a vibrant culture of curiosity, growth, and community connection.
New Frontiers members have a long history of serving as ambassadors for MCC, volunteering for the annual Empty Bowls event which raises funds for Paz de Cristo, an organization committed to helping people who struggle with hunger, food insecurity, and poverty. New Frontiers members also volunteer for MCC’s We Care Wednesdays, distributing fresh food to those in need, and have assisted with special projects such as the Human Library, sharing stories of their lives with MCC students. New Frontiers members generously donate scholarships to MCC students.
Thank you for being a shining example of lifelong learning in action.
