BPC110 Computer Usage and Applications 3 Credits

Introduction to business and personal computer operations and usage. Software applications for analyzing and solving business problems including word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation graphics. Prerequisites: None.

Course Notes: BPC110 uses Microsoft Office 2016, 2019 or Office 365 and includes extensive hands-on experience with word processing, excel spreadsheets, presentation and database management software. Knowledge of basic features of Windows and ability to type 30 WPM recommended. Macintosh users should consult with their instructor for information on how to take BPC 110 on a Mac. Chromebooks and iPads are not supported. Students require access to a PC and/or Mac to complete coursework.

CIS105 Survey of Computer Information Systems 3 Credits

Overview of computer technology, concepts, terminology, and the role of computers in business and society. Discussion of social and ethical issues related to computers. Use of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software. Includes uses of application software and the Internet for efficient and effective problem solving. Exploration of relevant emerging technologies. Prerequisites: None.

Course Notes: CIS105 is a lecture course with computers demonstrations and open lab assignments. PSY230 Introduction to Statistics 3 Credits

An introduction to basic concepts in descriptive and inferential statistics, with emphasis upon application to psychology. Consideration given to the methods of data collection, sampling techniques, graphing of data, and the statistical evaluation of data collected through experimentation. Required of psychology majors.

Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in (PSY101 and eligibility for MAT14+ or higher as indicated by appropriate district mathematics placement) or permission of Instructor.

Course Notes: Students must take PSY231 (statistics lab) from the same instructor.

Additional Course Notes: Students may receive credit for only one (1) of the following courses: PSY230 or PSY230WL.
