Trillions of dollars.  Decades of enforcement.  An ongoing national debate.

For more than half a century, the War on Drugs has shaped U.S. policy, communities, and the criminal justice system, yet its outcomes continue to be widely studied, debated, and questioned.

MCC’s Social Science faculty will examine the War on Drugs through multiple critical lenses, including:

  • How it began and how it has evolved over time
  • The economic costs and scale of government spending
  • Its effects on the criminal justice system and impacted communities
  • Domestic and international consequences

Join us as we explore one of the most influential and contested policy efforts in modern history and its lasting impact on society today.
