Being well-informed makes you a better student, a better citizen and, most importantly, a better thinker. It’s perhaps one of the best things you can do for yourself. But you can’t be well-informed without critical reading and thinking skills. That’s where we come in.
The Critical Reading program at MCC offers courses that will help you develop your reading skills by presenting challenging reading materials that require analysis and evaluation through written discourse.
You will apply your critical thinking skills to various topics to identify and examine the author’s point of view, purpose and evidence. Knowing how to arrive at the proper conclusions in life is the secret to good living!

Advising for the Critical Reading program is available through the Reading department. You can also contact Academic Advisement for general advising. Both will help you determine the exact courses you need to get the education you’re looking for.
