Education and Reading Studies Programs
The Education and Reading Studies Department prepares students for meaningful careers in teaching and academic success across disciplines. Through programs in Early Childhood Education, K–12 Education, and Reading, students gain foundational knowledge, hands-on experiences, and clear transfer pathways. With flexible course formats and a strong focus on student success, the department supports future educators and learners at every stage of their academic journey at Mesa Community College.
Early Childhood Education
Early Childhood focuses their studies in early care and prepares students for teaching early childhood education spanning from birth to age 8 (3rd grade).
K-12 Education
The K-12 Education programs prepare students for teaching in Elementary Education (Grades K-8), Middle Grades Education (Grades 5-9), or Secondary Education (Grades 6-12).
