CIS198 VMware vSphere: Optimize and Scale 3 Credits

VMware vSphere: Optimize and Scale is designed for experienced VMware vSphere users. It teaches advanced skills for configuring and maintaining a highly available and scalable virtual infrastructure. Through a mix of lecture and hands-on labs, you will configure and optimize the vSphere features that build a foundation for a truly scalable infrastructure and discuss when and where these features have the greatest effect. It enables you to understand vSphere at a deeper level and how to use advanced features and controls.

Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in CIS197.

Notes: This is an Open Entry class that does not meet at specific class times. Student start dates can be 8/22, 8/29 or 9/5 and you will have 14 weeks to complete the classwork. Class 34480 does not meet on campus and is totally self-paced but has due dates for assignments and activities submissions. The class will cover vSphere 6.7 and has many hours of recorded discussion, lecture and demonstrations to help you with learning the content of the class. You will have access to live labs that relate to course content. This class is intended to help prepare you for the “VMware vSphere 6.7 Foundations” exam which is one of the exams required for the VCP-DCV 2020 certification. Upon passing the class you will receive a discount voucher to be used towards this exam and also provides the requirement to “attend one of the required training courses” for the VCP certification. Your instructor is a VMware Certified Instructor with many years of experience with many vSphere products.
