Mesa Community College recently received mention in an email blast newsletter by the Graduation Pledge Alliance. MCC encourages graduates to sign a pledge to commit to building a healthy, sustainable, and just world. MCC has had a 129% increase in signers from 2011 to 2013 because of increased promotion and awareness of the pledge.
The newsletter stated: "Mesa Community College has a very successful strategy which includes: placing Graduation Pledge information in the general graduation info email, a specific Graduation Pledge "Green Information" email, advertising on Mesa College's closed circuit TV, and a hard copy letter sent in the mail to graduating students. This ongoing strategy is augmented by their college sustainability department Face Book Page which is kept up to date with timely postings."
