Service Awards
AmeriCorps Education Award
Contact the Center for Service-Learning at 480-461-7393 or visit in person at either the Southern & Dobson or Red Mountain locations to see if you qualify to participate in the AmeriCorps program.

Accessing Your Educational Award
You will need to create a user ID and password to complete the online request. Be sure to follow the application instructions carefully. You may view the status of your AmeriCorps award request online. Go to the AmeriCorps web site.
AmeriCorps Award Criteria
- The payment request will only be approved for the semester you are currently enrolled in at MCC. A payment request will not be accepted for a previous semester.
- The payment request is only approved for tuition, fees, and books/supplies.
The total of your request may include the total cost of your tuition and fees plus the actual cost of your books (or the maximum amount allowed for books based on your enrollment status).

Computer Reimbursement
To use AmeriCorps awards to cover a computer you must meet the following criteria:
- You must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours in order for the Cost of Attendance to cover miscellaneous expenses.
- You must pay for the computer out of pocket and then submit the purchase receipt to the Student Financial Services Office with an intention to receive reimbursement.
You must submit and AmeriCorps payment request each semester you want to receive your AmeriCorps award.
- Summer session I and II are considered one semester.
- Winter Inter-session is considered part of the Spring semester.

Interactive Time Logs
AmeriCorps participants! You may now complete a simple interactive .pdf to log your service hours & Reflections throughout the month. Its easy and this one form will allow you to track all your AmeriCorps service for the remainder of 2010 as well as all of 2011!
What's an interactive pdf? Simply - it's a pdf file that allows you to type in your responses to questions or to add comments to pre-set fields embedded in the .pdf. Some interactive pdfs even allow the form to be submitted online. You will need an updated version of Acrobat reader to complete the form. Download the Acrobat update here.
Instructions:
- Download the Time-Log here.
- WINDOWS - Right click on the Time-Log link and Save-as to your desktop.
- MAC - Hold the Apple Key and click the Time-Log link and Save-as to your desktop.
- Log your service hours and complete the Reflections journal segment monthly.
- Save after each update!
- Print the current month Time-log and Reflection.
- Sign the Time-log and Reflection.
- Take printed report to your Site Supervisor for signature.
- After you have both signatures please return your Time-log and Reflection report to the Office for Service-Learning.
We cannot accept Time-logs and Reflections without both signatures.

MCC Excellence in Service Award
To apply, Mesa Community College students must complete 500 hours of service during their time at MCC. If qualified they may receive the MCC Excellence Service Award medallion to wear at graduation.
Students may only receive this award once. Applications are due each year by the first Monday in March.

The President's Volunteer Service Award
Awarded by the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation on behalf of the President of the United States. This award recognizes the best in American spirit and encourages all Americans to improve their communities through volunteer service, and civic participation.
Available to individuals, families, and groups that demonstrate outstanding volunteer service and civic participation over the course of a 12-month period. Recipients receive:
- An official President's Volunteer Service Award lapel pin.
- A personalized certificate of achievement.
- A congratulatory letter from the President of the United States.
- A letter from the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation.
