Where do I go to register?
- On the Southern and Dobson campus, services are setup in the Paul A. Elsner Library prior to the start of classes. After classes start, visit the Admissions and Records office
- If you are attending classes at the Red Mountain campus visit Enrollment Services in the Mesquite Building. They provide a one-stop service environment.
Where can I print my class schedule on campus?
- Print stations will be setup at the Southern and Dobson campus in the following locations:
- Media Services – AS Building
- Kirk Student Center
- Art and Communications Reception Area (AC30 – East of the Theatre Outback)
- At the Red Mountain campus visit the computer lab in the Desert Willow building.
How do I change my schedule or drop/add a class?
- You can change your schedule online at my.maricopa.edu
- In person, visit the Admissions and Record Office at the Southern and Dobson campus or the Enrollment Services office in the Mesquite Building at the Red Mountain campus.
- To change by fax: (480) 461-7255
What does RDM mean on my schedule?
- RDM is not a building. A class showing this is being held on the Red Mountain Campus.
Where do I get a parking sticker and ID card?
- Visit Student Life to get these essential items.
- In order to get your parking sticker you need to bring your ID and vehicle registration. Please note, students are asked to not wear any head cover for their photo.
How do I prove my residency?
- Mesa Community College is required to comply with Arizona Proposition 300 in establishing residency and eligibility requirements for all students seeking admissions, financial aid, and other college services. Students must submit a Student Declaration Form and required documentation to the college.
- To qualify for in-state tuition and state financial assistance, students must provide documentation as proof of lawful presence in the United States. Acceptable documents include a birth certificate, an Arizona driver license or ID card issued after 1996, US passport, or official immigration papers.
- Students who successfully complete the federal Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will not need to show additional proof of citizenship.
- Visit the Admissions and Records Office on the Southern and Dobson Campus or at Enrollment Services on the Red Mountain Campus.
I’m a veteran who is taking online classes. Why am I paying out-of-county tuition?
- Residency is based on the home state shown on your application and registration. It is not based on where you may be stationed.
- Contact Veterans' Services at 480-461-7425 for assistance.
I can’t get into a class I need. What do I do?
- For a program that is full you can talk to the Department to request an override.
- If a class has been cancelled by MCC please speak with the Dean of Student Affairs office.
- For all other concerns and issues contact an advisor in the Advisement and Registration office. Appointments may be made by calling (480) 461-7222, option 1 or you can visit in person, Building #38, or online advising is available. For online advising follow this link to complete the Ask the Academic Advisor form.
My financial aid is late and I need to buy books. What do I do?
- Book Advances are available to enrolled students who have a financial aid award. You can receive a direct deposit advance from your pending financial aid award to purchase, or rent, their textbooks from anywhere you choose.
- Book advance requirements are:
- You must have a pending financial aid/scholarship award
- You must have enough aid to cover your tuition and any other outstanding balance
- You must meet the Satisfactory Academic Progress Requirements
- You must be enrolled in the Maricopa Student Refund Program (MSRP) for direct deposit to a bank account, or the prepaid Citi Visa Card
My online instructor has not emailed me back. Should I be concerned?
- Some instructors do contact students before class via phone, letter or email; others do not. It is important to check your Google Apps email regularly for messages. Go to google.maricopa.edu to access your email account. Use your My.Maricopa Username and Password.
- You can try calling the instructor. If that doesn't generate a response, contact the department chair. Go to Departments -> www.mesacc.edu/departments/ . Click on the department name to see the Chair.
I forgot my password. How do I get it?
- Contact the Help Center at (480) 461-7217 or visit them in the AS building Breezeway.
Is there childcare at MCC?
- Quality affordable childcare is available on-campus for qualified students. Visit the website at www.mesacc.edu/children/ or contact the Children’s Center at (480) 461-7082 for further information.
I am having trouble in a class. Is there someone I can talk to?
- The Learning Enhancement Center offers free online or in person tutoring in most academic subjects and other services to support learning and teaching college-wide.
- They are located at Southern & Dobson on the first floor of the Paul Elsner Library. At Red Mountain they are located on the first floor of the Desert Willow Building.
I do not understand my math class. Is there tutoring available?
- A Learning Enhancement Center tutor can help. An appointment can be made or drop in tutoring is available in the following:
- Academic Skills Center (EF 1)
- Biology Center (NU 146)
- Math/CSC Center (Building 7)
- Math Foundations Center (MS 113)
- Physical Sciences Center (PS 100)
- PIRC Lab Center (Building 42)
- Red Mountain Center (Desert Willow Building)
- Biology Center - Red Mountain (S 154)
- Math Foundations Center - Red Mountain (Desert Willow Building)
- Online tutoring for many courses from SMARTHINKING is available from the MyMCC portal.
Where do I go to request a refund?
- It is the responsibility of our students at Mesa Community College to be aware of the refund policy as stated in the Mesa Community College catalog.
- Visit Admissions & Records, Building 39 on the Southern and Dobson campus or Enrollment Services at Red Mountain for assistance.
I left a textbook in the library and it’s gone. What do I do?
- Lost and found property is kept at the Public Safety Office, which is located at the S/W corner of the campus. If you lose property at the College, please check with Public Safety to ascertain if the item has been found. The telephone number is (480) 461-7046 (or 17046 from a campus phone).
I am a handicapped student. Where can I park?
- Disability parking spaces are available and designated in all parking lots on campus. In addition, wider spaces for loading and unloading from vans are available in several parking lots. Please note that students with disabilities with a properly identified vehicle may park in any faculty or staff space as well as in those designated as handicapped areas.
