American Indian Center

AIC helps to minimize the cultural distance associated with transition when a student leaves their home area. We provide American Indian students a support and resource center with an awareness of Native customs and culture. We are here to help you achieve college success!

Scholarships & Financial Aid

Native American / Tribal Scholarships

Scholarships are available for Native American students through various tribes. Contact the American Indian Center on the Southern & Dobson Campus or by phone at 480-461-7931 or the Red Mountain Campus location or by phone at 480-654-7200.

To apply for a tribal scholarship follow the steps below:

  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • Go to www.aasfaa.org to complete your tribe's Financial Need Analysis (FNA).
  • Be sure you follow all application instructions carefully and meet all deadlines to be considered for tribal funding.
  • Turn in all documents needed by the Student Financial Services Office to complete your financial aid file.
    all verification, citizenship, appeals, etc.
  • Please allow our office 24 to 48 hours to complete the FNA after your financial aid file has been completed.
    It may take up to 30 business days to complete your financial aid file once you have submitted all the required documents
  • Check the status of your financial aid by logging in at: My.maricopa.edu.
