We're excited to welcome you to Mesa Community College! Please select the option that best describes you to display your steps to enroll. Our team is here to support you throughout the process.

What Type of Student Are You?

New Student

You are new to the Maricopa Community Colleges and would like to become a student.

Returning Student

You previously enrolled at any of the 10 Maricopa Community Colleges, or you need to finish a recent application.

High School Student

You want to take your first classes through Dual Enrollment, Concurrent Enrollment, or other programs for high school students.

Non-credit Student

You are new to the Maricopa Community Colleges and want to take classes for continuing education or personal enrichment.

1. Get Admitted

  1. Complete the admissions application.
    1. If you have applied in the past or taken classes at MCC or another Maricopa Community College, please choose the Returning Student option.
    2. The application will create a Maricopa Enterprise ID (MEID) and password, which you will use to complete additional tasks and register for classes. If you started an application more than 30 days ago and did not complete it, you will need to start a new application and will be given a new MEID.
  2. Set up two-factor authentication
    1. Once you are admitted, you will need to set up Duo two-factor authentication to access Maricopa student systems.
    2. Two-factor authentication is a required security measure to protect your account, and needs to be established by you (the student) using your [email protected] email address and phone number.
    3. Don’t forget to write down your MEID, Student ID number, and Maricopa email address (which is activated after you are admitted).

2. Complete Student Center Items

Now that you are admitted, complete your new student tasks:

  1. Log in to your Student Center to work on additional important tasks before you can register for classes. You will submit your Government ID during this step. Check your To Do List for details.
  2. Determine your course placement. MCC offers several ways to determine the right English, reading, and math courses for you. These include your high school GPA, as well as scores on the GED, ACT, SAT, and ACCUPLACER exams.
  3. Register for New Student Orientation to learn about how to be a successful student and explore the many MCC resources available to you.

3. Meet with an Advisor and Register

You are now ready to being planning your semester schedule. Please visit New Student Advising to learn more about the steps you need to take. You should be on Step 3 if you have completed the tasks above.

4. Arrange Payment

After you have registered for classes, you need to make payment arrangements.

  1. Ensure your tuition rate reflects your status as either an in-state or out-of-state student. The tuition rate is determined after submitting your ID and other supporting documents. For more information, go to Residency Information.
  2. Explore ways to make payment arrangements.

    2. Sign up for a Tuition Payment Plan
    3. Make a Payment
    4. See All Payment Plan Options
  3. Review your tuition balance, refund, and payment deadlines.

1. Get Readmitted

  1. Reset or reactivate your login information.
    1. You will need your Maricopa Enterprise ID (MEID). If you do not remember your MEID, use our online tool to look it up. If it has been more than a year since you logged in, you will need to reactivate it first at Reactivate MEID.
    2. You may also need to reset your password. Follow the instructions on our password reset page to do so.
  2. Log in to the admissions application. Make sure you have an active application for Mesa Community College. If you do not, complete a new admissions application.
  3. Review your Academic Plan to make sure it reflects your career goals.
    1. You can review and edit your plan by logging into the Student Center and selecting the My Academic Plan tile.
    2. Use the Change Plan/Subplan area to update your Academic Plan.

2. Meet with an Advisor and Register

  2. Determine your course placement. MCC offers several ways to determine the right English, reading, and math courses for you. These include your high school GPA, as well as scores on the GED, ACT, SAT, and ACCUPLACER exams.
  3. Schedule a new student appointment with an academic advisor. Appointments are available in person, virtually, and by phone. If you attend a Mesa Public Schools high school, meet with the embedded advisor at your school.
  4. Register for New Student Orientation to learn about how to be a successful student and explore the many MCC resources available to you.

3. Meet with an Advisor and Register

  1. Begin exploring the class schedule:
    1. Use the MCC Class Schedule to search for your classes and select “Show Only Open Classes”.
    2. If you are taking dual enrollment courses (held at your high school), visit your high school’s class list instead.
    3. For classes you’re interested in, make a note of the course number, course title, credits, five-digit class number, and instructor.
  2. Gather the items you will need for your advising appointment. These include your high school transcript; SAT, ACT, and/or GED Scores; transcripts from any other colleges you've attended; and any placement test scores.
  3. Meet with an academic advisor during your scheduled appointment. Be sure to bring the items above. You will work together with your advisor to build a class schedule for your first semester.
  4. Use the registration form found in your Student Center to request your classes. A staff member will enroll you in classes in 3-5 business days.

Now that you are admitted, complete your new student tasks and sign up for classes:

  1. Log in to your Student Center to work on additional important tasks before you can register. You will submit your Government ID during this step. Check your To Do List for details.
  2. Explore the non-credit class schedule. Use the MCC Class Schedule to search for your classes and select “Show Only Non-Credit Classes” under More Search Options.
  3. Register for classes in your Student Center. Use our registration guides to help you.
