Concurrent Enrollment

Concurrent Enrollment students take college courses on the college campus while in high school. Concurrent Enrollment students receive the whole experience of taking a college course, with other college students, to prepare for college success after high school. Concurrent enrollment courses follow the MCC Academic Calendar and enrollment dates for a variety of classes offered in-person, online, or in a hybrid format. Please allow 2-3 business days for concurrent enrollment registration processing.

Please Note:

  1. Students 13 and younger do require a Pre-Enrollment Parent Meeting prior to enrollment. Please reach out to Admissions & Records to schedule a meeting.
  2. Pre-Enrollment Parent Meeting may be held virtually, in-person, or over the phone

Requests for Enrollment must be submitted 2 weeks prior to the beginning of the course. Classes that begin January 17th and January 24th are no longer open for registration. Please allow 3-5 business days for processing.

Important Information - FERPA Pin Required for Student Account Disclosure

FERPA is the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act and is a Federal law that protects the privacy of your education records. The FERPA PIN (Personal Identification Number) has been an option available to you as a student to use to verify your identity when calling in, chatting, texting, etc. Due to the Federal Trade Commission Safeguards Rule which is a part of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, we are instituting the use of a FERPA PIN as the main method of verifying your identity.

As part of the FERPA PIN, you can now authorize third-parties (such as parents, guardians, spouses, employers, or others) to have access to specific information on your student account by submitting and adding the 3rd party to your list of authorized persons and/or organizations. Staff are not able to assign/change your FERPA PIN. When in-person, you may be required to verify your identification with a photo ID.

  1. Login to Student Center
  2. Go to Profile tab
  3. Click on FERPA PIN Number
  4. Enter 4 digit number
  5. Enter optional access for others by clicking on Edit/View Release Info and Submit when adding individuals and to save changes.

Note: Authorized parties need to be updated by the student annually.

If you do not have a FERPA PIN or cannot remember your FERPA PIN, staff may still be able to assist you by using other verification information. You can receive support in-person by showing a photo ID. Once you get verified, a staff member will assist you with where you can create/update your FERPA PIN in your Student Center. You are the only person who can change your FERPA PIN.

Registration Steps

Concurrent Enrollment students will follow the steps to enroll listed below.

Step 1- Complete the Online Student Admissions Application to MCC. If you are a returning MCC Student you can skip to Step 4

  1. Once you are admitted, you will need to set up Duo two-factor authentication to access Maricopa student systems.
  2. Two-factor authentication is a required security measure to protect your account, and needs to be established by you (the student) using your [email protected] email address and phone number.
  3. Go to www.maricopa.edu/duo to learn how to get started and for more information on Duo security requirements. Information for students without a smartphone is also available there.

Step 2- Complete Identity Authentication and Financial Responsibility and Consent for Student Under 18 (requires MEID to login) through your Student Center as they will be listed as "To Do" items to complete.

Step 3- Complete an Ed Ready Reading Placement Exam Online.

HOMESCHOOL STUDENTS ONLY: Per State law, homeschooled students are exempt from submitting an unofficial high school transcript or ACT Aspire, ACT, PSAT, or SAT score report. However, homeschool students will be required to take the College EdReady Reading assessment with a recommended score of 75 or higher to demonstrate college readiness for admissions and must meet individual course placement requirements.

Step 4- Complete the MCC Special Admissions/Enrollment Form For Students Under 18.

Step 5- Once you have been enrolled by a staff member (3-5 business days) you will have until the payment deadline noted on your receipt to pay your tuition. Failure to pay by this date may result in your being dropped from the course. All communications will be sent to your MCC Student Email.

Pay For College

Enroll early for best class selection. A $40 payment secures your classes, and activates a no-interest payment plan. In order to secure classes the fee is due by midnight the day of registration. Payment plans are available for up to six months. The number of monthly payments depends on the date you enroll in the payment plan and the class(es) end date. Not all payment plans will extend to the end of the term. Read more here.

Debit or credit cards accepted.

*All payment plan options require an immediate nonrefundable payment of $40.

  • Please note that students who are concurrently enrolled in college classes while in high school are ineligible to receive Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • Students are responsible for making their tuition payment by the deadline. Failure to make payment may result in the student being dropped from the course.
  • To qualify for in-state tuition, send each college that you are attending a copy of an accepted document that shows your citizenship or legal residency. Tuition for in-state residents at the Maricopa Community Colleges is $97 per credit hour plus a $15 registration fee per semester, per college.
