Frequently Asked Questions
1. Who can apply for admission to MCC?
- Students who are in their country and want to come to MCC to study on an F-1 visa.
- F-1 visa students who are currently enrolled at another college in the US and want to transfer to MCC.
- Students who are in the US on a non-F-1 visa and want to change their status to F-1 to study at MCC.
- Note: If you are an F-1 student and want to take a class at MCC while enrolling at your current college, please go to our Concurrent Enrollment page to submit your registration request.
2. When to apply for admissions at MCC?
- Fall admission: Late February through July 1st for new applications
- Spring admission: Mid-July through November 1st for new applications
- No Summer admissions.
- Only online applications are accepted.
- There is no application fee!

3. What program are you applying for?
- Are you looking to improve your English skills before beginning your academic program? We offer an intensive English as a Second Language (ESL) program to help you achieve this goal. Click here to learn more about our ESL program.
- If you are eligible for an academic program, click here to explore our associate degrees.
Notes:
- Admission is offered to associate degree-seeking students only, not certificate and bachelor's programs.
- Applicants may not apply directly to the allied health programs (Dental Hygiene, Nursing, Paramedicine, or Veterinary Technology). First, international applicants must apply to a general academic program (for example, Associate in Science, Associate in Arts, or Associate in General Studies). Later, they must apply to and be accepted into an allied health program. Acceptance into an allied health program is not guaranteed.
- International students are not eligible for the in-state tuition rate and are charged the out-of-state tuition rate. Financial aid or scholarships are not available for international students.
- We may request that original documents be mailed/emailed directly to us.
4. What documents do you need to apply for admission?
- Personal information
- Study plan or program of study (ESL or academic)
- Evidence of financial support
- Proof of high school graduation (transcript and diploma)
- Proof of English proficiency
- Passport and:
- For transfer students: F-1 visa, I-20, and I-94, and current college transcripts.
- For change-of-status students: current visa, I-94, DS-2019, if applicable
- Prior US high school, college, or university transcript, if applicable

5. How to apply?
Step 1: Go to our website: www.mesacc.edu/International-education/future-f-1-students.
Step 2: Click New User Apply Here to create an account.
Note: An email will be sent to you with your login and password information.Step 3: Log in with your username and temporary password to get the application started.
Step 4: On Your Home Page, click on Search Programs (black button), then choose Incoming International Students on the Show box (leave the other boxes blank) and hit the Search button.
Step 5: Choose which type of user you are (Initial/New International Admission or Transfer Student). Note: Initial / New students are those who are NOT enrolled at any educational institution in the United States.
Step 6: Click on Apply Now.
6. What is the cost of attendance?
Below are the estimates for each school year (2 semesters or approximately 10 months):
- Tuition and fees: $9,115
- Health insurance, textbooks, and supplies: $3,014
- Housing and living expenses: $17,200
