AIS110 Navajo Government 3 Credits

Addresses and examines major historical developments of the Navajo People with a focus on government, law, society, livelihood, tradition, and culture. Includes the major components and operation of Navajo government and related tribal laws, such as Title II and Title VII of the Navajo Nation Code, as well as the significance of the Treaty of 1868. Federal Indian policies and their impact on Navajo society and government, the importance of federal and tribal citizenship and related federal and tribal laws, and the role of the Navajo clanship system and other relevant cultural concepts addressed. Overview of computer technology, concepts, terminology, and the role of computers in business and society. Discussion of social and ethical issues related to computers. Use of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software. Includes uses of application software and the Internet for efficient and effective problem solving. Exploration of relevant emerging technologies. Prerequisites: None.

Course Notes: CIS105 is a lecture course with computers demonstrations and open lab assignments. CIS105 uses Windows-based computers to cover word processing, presentation, spreadsheet and database management software. Includes overview of computer technology, concepts, terminology and the role of computers in business and society. Discussion of social and ethical issues related to computers and exploration of relevant emerging technologies. Knowledge or basic features of Windows and ability to type 30 WPM recommended. This comprehensive, fast-paced training course focuses on installing, configuring, and managing VMware NSX. This course covers NSX as a part of the software-defined data center platform, implementation use cases along with features of NSX, and functionality operating at Layer 2 through Layer 7 of the OSI model. Lecture and hands-on lab activities support the student's understanding of NSX features, functionality, and on-going management and control.

Class 19363 This class helps prepare you for the VMware Certified Professional Network Virtualization (VCP-NV) certification. This class should be taken after the CIS197 (related to the vSphere Foundations Exam). Unfortunately, there is no voucher provided for this class and it does not count towards the attendance requirement for the VCP-NV. However, if you are already a VCP, you could take the VCP-NV test and it would certify you as a VCP-NV. You would also give you a dual VCP badge which you could post on LinkedIn and other sites. CON111 Carpentry: Wall Systems 3.5 Credits

Examines the layout and construction procedures for wall systems, including: interpretation of construction drawings and specifications; selection of appropriate types of wall system components; and application of wall system materials. Emphasis of the estimation of the amount of materials needed for a wall assembly and some common alternative wall systems.

Covers the layout and construction procedures for roof systems, including interpretation of construction drawings and specifications. Provides an overview of ceiling and roof construction methods, the different types of roofs used in residential construction, materials, estimation of materials, and the use of trusses in basic roof framing. Electricity related to residential and light commercial applications, to include common electrical components, AC and DC circuits, and electrical safety. Provides an introduction to reading, interpreting, and creating wiring diagrams and the application of electrical power. Operation and use of specific meters, tools, and an introduction to National Electrical Code (NEC). Prerequisites: None.
