This course will prepare the successful student to receive the "Certified IPC Specialist" (CIS) certification from The Institute for Interconnecting and Packaging Electronic Circuits (IPC)/Wire Harness Manufacturer's Association (WHMA) in "Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies" (IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification). Topics covered and skills to be demonstrated are: soldered terminations, crimp terminations, insulation displacement terminations (IDC), splices, connectorization, marking/labeling, coaxial cable assemblies, electrical shielding, wire marking and labeling, and testing methodologies. Additional Notes: CIS105 is a lecture course with computers demonstrations and open lab assignments. CIS105 uses Windows-based computers to cover word processing, presentation, spreadsheet and database management software. Includes overview of computer technology, concepts, terminology and the role of computers in business and society. Discussion of social and ethical issues related to computers and exploration of relevant emerging technologies. Knowledge or basic features of Windows and ability to type 30 WPM recommended. CIS105 uses Microsoft Office 2016 or 2019 and either Windows 7, 8, or 10 software.

CIS107 The Electronic Game Industry 3 Credits

Introduction to the electronic game industry, including history, market, distribution and publishing channels, business models, team roles, and career landscape. Technical topics covered include software engineering, artificial intelligence, game physics, computer graphics, and networking.

These classes should be taken in the following order: CIS197 (related to the vSphere Foundations Exam) CIS198 (related to the VCP-DCV Exam) After successfully receiving a passing grade, you can receive a voucher which provides proof that you attended a certified course, which meets the VCP certification requirement to "Attend one of the required training courses." After successfully completing these two certification tests using at least one of the vouchers provide with the course, you will earn the current VCP-DCV certification.
